What is Occupational Therapy?
'Occupational therapy helps you live your best life at home, at work – and everywhere else. It’s about being able to do the things you want and have to do. That could mean helping you overcome challenges learning at school, going to work, playing sport or simply doing the dishes. Everything is focused on your wellbeing and your ability to participate in activities. It’s also a science-based, health and social care profession that’s regulated by the Health and Care Professions'

being. Case Management
Immediate Needs Assessment (INA)
An INA carried out by a being specialist is completed at the individuals home address and/or workplace. The Case Manager / Occupational Therapist can identify the barriers the individual faces in their own environment. The assessment identifies the individuals injuries and how these impact them on a day to day basis.
The Case Manager will assess the abilities and limitations of the individual and their social, physical and cultural environment both pre and post accident, as well as any barriers to optimising their outcomes. What were their pre injury roles, their interests, their job, hobbies and routine. Following the INA, a comprehensive rehabilitation plan is developed in conjunction with the injured individual to optimise their rehabilitation potential.

What is Case Management?
'Case management is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the interventions and services required to meet an individual’s health and wellbeing, rehabilitation, education and/or occupational needs, using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost effective and safe outcomes. The practice of case management developed in the UK in recognition of gaps in services for those individuals whose needs did not fall conveniently within the boundaries of a single agency or professional group.'
